Password-protect an HTML file
A password checked by JavaScript inside the HTML file is not protection: anyone can read the source. Real protection requires a server that checks the password before sending the content.

Step by step
- Upload the file. Drop the .html file (or zip/folder) on siktora.com.
- Choose Password. Select "Password" and enter one with at least four characters.
- Send link and password separately. Send the link in one message and the password in another.
How the protection works
- Content is only sent after the correct password. Passwords are stored as scrypt hashes.
- Attempts are rate-limited, and failed attempts appear in your analytics.
- Changing the password requires everyone to enter the new one.
- Presentations are served through short-lived signed tokens on a separate domain.
Stronger than a password: specific people
Restrict the link to specific email addresses or whole domains (e.g. @client.com). Recipients confirm their address with a six-digit code.
